Xmotion^® Transporta adds powerful GPS location services

Melbourne, Australia – 01 February – Melbourne based technology company InterDev, has added powerful location based services to the market leading Xmotion Transporta product. Utilising GPS services and powerful mapping from Google Maps®, Transporta now offers location services as an integral component of the popular transport and logistics application. Location services provide the ability to perform simple operations such as locate vehicles and track journeys, but more importantly to add location information into jobs to allow automatic initiation of transport events.

For transport operators this provides significant value by removing the need for drivers to verify transport events such as Arrival, Departure, Loading etc as these events are now processed automatically based on the location of the vehicle and the particular ‘job’ the driver is undertaking. Importantly it can also assist in providing a verification of location for Proof of Delivery and all associated transport events. Simple operations are also catered for such as ‘Where is my vehicle’ and ‘Where has my vehicle been’ as well as visual maps of locations of the entire fleet.

Location services as part of Transporta also allow Transport Operators to effectively track demurrage as well as Break times and locations. Contracts for transport services are becoming heavily KPI based and Xmotion Transporta now provides even greater capabilities to assist operators in meeting and reporting on their KPI’s.

Importantly, location services provide the ability for ‘pro-active’ services such as pre-warning a client that a delivery is imminent based on their current GPS location. Transporta provides the capability to provide automatic ‘events’ based on GPS location including services such as sending an SMS to a client of the approaching delivery or pickup. Transport operators can significantly reduce revenue collection times, reduce demurrage and delays and virtually eliminate ‘lost jobs’ and the revenue associated with that job.
